Solutions exist for AT89S52 as CPU with ADC0808. However, this approach lacks in providing small form – factor hardware for UI as it uses 8255 PPI off - chip. This paper proposes the usage of SPI protocol, allowing 4 sensors to interface through MCP3204 SPI Chip, without compromising UI requirement. The SPI driver implementation in Keil4 using embedded – C for pre - configured adjustable threshold levels is illustrated in detail. The second part of the paper illustrates the integration of the SPI driver and providing UI – design using the 2x16 LCD and matrix Keypad. Home automation takes care of a lot of different activities in the house. this project we propose a unique System for Home automation utilizing Dual Tone Multi Frequency (DTMF) that is paired with a wireless module to provide seamless wireless control over many devices in a house. The block diagram is a shown below. This user console has many keys , each corresponding to the device that needs to be activated. The encoder encodes the user choice and sends via a FM transmitter. The most important problems faced are the misusage of electricity and its wastage. Sometimes due to carelessness of the authorities and the workers lamps are left ON which results in wastage of electricity. Water wastage is another problem which needs to be dealt with. Our project helps to overcome all these problems. Firstly the Microcontroller around 4.00pm switches on the water supply once to water the entire garden few hours before opening of the garden for public. Next the gate is opened by running the motor which is driven by a motor driver operated by the Microcontroller. At around 6.00pm the lights are switched on depending upon the output of the LDR and the lights remain functional till the garden remains open for visitors. The garden remains open for about three hours and so around 8.50 pm a buzzer is sounded to indicate closure of the garden and alert the visitors. The gate is then closed at 9.00pm and one of the two lamps is switched off. One lamp is kept on throughout the night. In the morning the remaining lamp is switched off depending upon the signal sent by the LDR, light dependent resistor to the Microcontroller. These are the step involved in the operation of the circuit and the public garden automation. Designing an autonomous soil monitoring robot.

Through the monitoring of soil conditions land managers can respond rapidly to mitigate adverse events, such as extreme weather or ongoing drought. However, without an extensive system of sensors, gathering information over a large field takes an exorbitant amount of time. This mass collection of soil data would allow farm managers to study time-lapsed trends and variables within a particular region to provide quick assessment of land conditions. Currently, the client uses a bulky handheld wireless soil sensor to measure moisture content and temperature. To take measurements, the client must walk to the coordinates of interest, clear the ground of vegetation, manually insert the probe into the ground, and log the reading. The team is designing an autonomous soil monitoring rover to expedite data collection and reduce labor. The rover will be able to autonomously navigate through a field several acres in size and avoid obstacles. It will gather data on soil moisture and temperature at a set of given waypoints and relay the information back to the farm manager. Constructed with a custom welded steel frame, the first rover prototype will be a four-wheeled vehicle with front wheel drive. The vehicle will be equipped with a Stevens Hydra Probe II mounted to a linear actuator. Navigation will be handled using a GPS and wheel encoders. When completed, the rover will allow the land manager to analyze trends between soil data and pasture health, providing an accurate snapshot of a field. View More
